Fashion Show is coming right up!

Come check out Lafayette's style! DAC and LOTA are co-producing a fashion show presentation of hairstyles, jewelry, clothing and outdoor gear. All the styles come directly from Lafayette's own designers and shops. The show will be held at Festival Plaza at 3 p.m. on July 25.

This week's Picnic on the Plaza will feature SCTLS (Small Circle Tune Learning Session) Traditional Irish Session directed by Jennifer Pauley. Hope to see you at Festival Plaza on Wednesday! It's supposed to be warm - 93 degrees - so remember your sunscreen.

Great lunch deal for Wednesday music

The L-Town Strummer dulcimer group will play Festival Plaza on Wednesday! Thinking about coming to the Picnic on the Plaza music hour? You can order a gourmet picnic lunch catered by Hanna's, which will be delivered to the Starkey Building on Wednesday. Lunch will be served at noon. For folks 59 and younger, lunch is $6. For those 60 and older, lunch is provided for the suggested donation of $2.75.

Orders need to be in on Tuesday by 2 p.m. To order, call Lori at 303-665-9052 ext. 1.

Lots happening Wednesday

Don't forget that Wednesday is Bike to Work Day. The City of Lafayette is sponsoring two breakfast stations that will be open from 6:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. One is at Festival Plaza. Art, food, fun, music - Tonight!

Tonight, the Lafayette Public Art Committee is celebrating 12 pieces of public art that have recently been installed on Public Road. Here's some information about the event that starts at 6 p.m. from the Cultural Arts page on the city website:

The Public Art Committee will unveil 12 new sculptures selected for the Art on the Street program on June 18, 6:00 – 7:15 p.m., during a Meet the Artists Reception at Festival Plaza. Enjoy music, wine, a mini “Taste of Lafayette” featuring eight Lafayette restaurants and the free monthly Art Night Out festivities, including Jonny Woodrose & the Broken-Hearted Woodpeckers band.

It's going to be a fabulous event. We can't wait!

Oh, and don't forget yoga practice at 4:30 p.m.

Leafy greens and more

Don't forget about today's Farmer's Market, where you can get leafy greens such as Swiss chard and lettuce. There might even be some strawberries and rhubarb for sale. Come down to Festival Plaza today for greens and much, much more.

Yoga and Peanut Butter Players

There will be FREE yoga practice on the Festival Plaza lawn this evening, followed by a musical performance from the Peanut Butter Players!

Dave Camp, Cool Jazz musician, will be the featured artist at Festival Plaza on Wednesday. The Picnic on the Plaza series is every Wednesday from noon to 1 p.m.

Farmer's Market to begin May 20

The Farmer's Market returns to Festival Plaza on May 20 and will be open 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. each Thursday through October 14. This year, in addition to Colorado fruits and veggies, bread, honey and cheese, the Farmer's Market has also added a community business booth for local businesses to show off their wares. The intent is for a different local business to occupy the booth each week.


Vendors at the Farmer's Market accept market bucks and food stamps.

Easter Egg Hunt and Downtown EGGstravaganza

**** Due to the lingering snow on the ground, the Easter Egg Hunt is RESCHEDULED for Saturday, April 3 *****
Join the City of Lafayette Recreation Department for the Annual Easter Egg Hunt for children 8 years and under. This is a free event, please arrive early and get your spot before the start time.
